One weird thing is I can't find out how the floors and ceilings are encoded in the map file or in the 'dpin' resource. However, some of these entries are listed as 128 + something; that something is how they are referred to in the map file. I did it by copying one of the resources and replacing another resource with that copy; then I looked for what looked like that copied resource. Thus, if I replace #130 with #128, I notice that the Headlesses look suspiciously like items to be picked up. Sometimes this approach produces crashes, however, but even then, I could guess the likely source of the crash. 128: Pickup items, dialog-box "PID" title, save rune, etc.; sets overall color table 129: Nightmare, Greater Nightmare 130: Headless 131: Phantasm 132: Ghoul 133: Zombie, Ghast 134: Shocking sphere 135: Blue Meanie 136: Barney? 137: Demon 139: Ooze, Green Ooze 140: Wraith 141: Sentinel 142: Skitter, Venomous Skitter 148: Walther Pistol 149: MP-41 Submachine Gun 150: AK-47 Assault Rifle 151: M-79 Grenade Launcher 152: Survival knife 153: Plain-theme pillars (128 + 25) 154: Plain-theme scenery (128 + 26) 155: Plain-theme ladders (128 + 27) 156: Corpses (128 + 28) 157: Crystal-theme scenery (128 + 29) 158: Crystal-theme pillars (128 + 30) 159: Crystal-theme ladders (128 + 31) 160: Corpses (128 + 32) 161: Corpses (128 + 33) 162: Rat things (128 + 34) 163: Crystal-theme extra scenery (128 + 35) 164: Vine-theme pillars, ladders (128 + 36) 165: Corpses (128 + 37) 166: Lizard things, exploding pods (128 + 38) 167: Vine-theme scenery (128 + 39) 187: Pyramid-blowing-up cutscene? 188: Game-selection graphics (soldier in a jungle coming across a Central American pyramid) 189: ? 190: Map-display graphics (sprites for map parts) 191: About-box graphics 192: Plain-theme walls (128 + 64) 193: Vine-theme walls (128 + 65) 194: Crystal-theme walls (128 + 66) 195: Mottled gray floor/ceiling 196: Pink/gray checkerboard floor/ceiling 197: Blue or green floor/ceiling with black splotches 198: Big cyan polkadotted floor/ceiling 199: Dark purple floor/ceiling with inscriptions 200: ? 201: ? 202: Irregular-orientation green-striped floor/ceiling -- Loren Petrich petrich@netcom.com Happiness is a fast Macintosh And a fast train
