Ed on Need A Light? (right of map)
First meeting remark
We gave you up for dead after the drop. I'm
glad you made it. I wish I could help you.
dropThe mission started out bad and only got
worse. We had a hell of a time getting this
far down, and it only gets worse.
missionYou remember the mission, don't you? Don't
mess with me, man ...
helpI'm sort of incapacitated or I'd help, I mean.
incapacitatedThat is, dead.
name
This is Ed, who do I look like? Sorry, I
guess it might be sort of hard to tell.
death
I accidentally triggered one of the doors
after we came down the ladder. One of
those green things cooked me. The guys
carried me here.
doorsMan, I hate the doors in this place. Half of
them don't open, but the half that does open
makes you wish they'd all stay shut.
placeI'd rather be in Bosnia, or even Somolia,
rather than be dead at the bottom of this hole.
Bosnia (or) SomoliaOk, ok. Bad Joke.
green (or) thingsYeah, one of those killed me. I'll never see
Anna again. Promise me you'll call her when
you get back ...
AnnaDon't joke with me, man, please call her.promise
Ok. That makes me feel better. You've got
to make it out, now. Don't forget.
cookedAn unpleasant sensation, I can assure you.guys
We lost John a few hours before I died, and
that left Steven, Greg, Jason, Darren and
Sean. Greg was the only one I ever saw
again.
JohnI don't remember what happened to John.
I'm starting to forget lots of things.Steven
Steven was furious after your 'chute didn't
open. It set the tone for the whole mission.Greg
About ten minutes after everybody left, I
saw Greg come running through here. He was
carrying the bomb.Jason (or) Darren (or) Sean
I don't know what happened to him, or most
of the others for that matter.
radio (or) beacon
The team had all three beacons when they
left me here. I don't know where they are
now.
Any word that doesn't trigger a new conversation will elicit the following replies:
I didn't understand what you said.I don't know anything about that.
Say that again.
Additional Notes
In version 2.0 of Pathways Into Darkness the word "hell"
was replaced with "horrible" in the following Conversation:
Unfortunately the text doesn't make sense since the word "time" was
obviously omitted during editing.
Ed will respond to the words radio or beacon
but not code unlike John. Of course there is no reason for us to ask about
the bomb code since we are still unaware that it was changed.
Note that Ed says there were three radio beacons.
Ed names all seven of your Special Forces team: Ed, John, Steven, Greg, Jason, Darren, Sean and Greg.
Ouch! Some bad grammer here:
There is no second meeting remark associated with Ed.
The mission started out bad and only got
worse. We had a horrible getting this far
down, and it only gets worse.
Man, I hate the doors in this place. Half of
them don't open, but the half that does open
makes you wish they'd all stay shut.
