Here's another little Pathways file I put together. Hope you like it.
Please check and see if it's accurate. Thanks.

Pathways Into Darkness - Namedroppers

It's kind of strange, but true -- many of the dead soldiers in the game
appear not to know the names of some of the other men in their own units.
(Either that, or they disliked them so much that they refuse to recall their
names.) Here's the list of who knows whom -- and who doesn't.

American Soldiers:

John (A Plague of Demons): Knows Steven and Greg. Doesn't know about Ed,
Darren, Jason or Sean.

Ed (Need a Light?): Knows all the Americans.

Darren (Light): Knows Greg, Steven and Ed. Doesn't know about Jason or Sean.
Won't reveal or answer to his own name.

Sean (Light): Knows John, Ed, Greg, Steven. Doesn't respond to "Darren" but
will talk about Darren when you ask him (Sean) about his own death. Doesn't
know Jason.

Jason (Light): Doesn't respond to any of the others' names. Doesn't reveal
his own name under "name", but will acknowledge it if you type in "Jason".

Steven (Light): Knows John, Ed and Greg. Doesn't know about Darren, Sean or
Jason.

Greg (Watch Your Step): Knows John, Ed and Steven. Doesn't know about Darren
or Sean. Only mentions Jason is you type in "street" or "fighter".

German Soldiers:

Anonymous Soldier (Ground Floor): Knows only about Muller.

Anonymous Soldier (Lock and Load): Won't respond to any names at all.

Gunther (Lock and Load): Knows Hans, Behrens, Joachim and Muller. Doesn't
know about Claude, Friedrich, Thomas or Walter.

Hans (They May Be Slow): Knows Muller, Behrens, Joachim and Claude. Doesn't
know about Gunther, Friedrich, Thomas or Walter.

Anonymous Soldier (They May Be Slow): Knows Muller, Hans, Behrens, Claude and
Joachim. Doesn't know about Gunther, Friedrich, Thomas or Walter.

Anonymous Soldier (But They're Hungry): Won't respond to any names at all.

Claude (Evil Undead Phantasms): Knows Muller, Gunther, Hans, Behrens and
Joachim. Doesn't know about Friedrich, Thomas or Walter.

Joachim: (Ascension): Knows Muller, Gunther, Hans, Claude, Behrens and
Friedrich. Doesn't know about Thomas or Walter.

Behrens (Wrong Way!): Knows Muller, Gunther, Hans, Joachim and Friedrich.
Doesn't know about Claude, Thomas or Walter.

Anonymous Soldier (Welcome, Tasty Primate!): Won't respond to any names at
all.

Anonymous Soldier (We Can See In the Dark): Knows Muller, Gunther, Claude,
Joachim, Behrens and Friedrich. Doesn't know about Hans, Walter or Thomas.

Anonymous Soldier One (Happy Carnage, near the save rune): Knows only about
Muller.

Anonymous Soldier Two (Carnage, inside the sealed room): Knows only about
Muller.

Thomas (Carnage): Knows everyone but Hans and Walter.

Friedrich: (Carnage): Knows Muller and Walter. Doesn't know about Gunther,
Hans, Claude, Joachim, Behrens or Thomas.

Muller: (Carnage): Knows Hans, Joachim, Walter and Friedrich. Doesn't know
about Gunther, Claude, Behrens or Thomas. [This is ludicrous; here is Thomas
in the same room with three of his dead buddies, and none of them acknowledge
him. Talk about giving somebody the silent treatment....]

Walter (Feel the Power): Knows only about Muller.

Anonymous Soldier (Beware of Low-Flying Nightmares): Knows only about Muller
and Walter. Doesn't know of Gunther, Hans, Behrens, Claude, Joachim,
Friedrich or Thomas.

Mr. Dead Solder Congeniality Contest

Now that we know which soldier knows which other soldier, we can easily find
out which soldiers were the most popular (or the most infamous). Here are
the results, in descending order of notoriety (the figures don't count each
soldier recognizing himself):

American Soldiers:

Steven: five of six, or 83%
Greg: five of six, or 83%
John: four of six, or 67%
Ed: four of six, or 67%
Darren: two of six, or 33%
Jason: two of six, or 33%
Sean: one of six, or 17%

German Soldiers:

Muller: 14 of 17, or 82%
Joachim: 8 of 17, or 47%
Behrens: 7 of 17, or 41%
Hans: 6 of 17, or 35%
Friedrich: 5 of 17, or 29%
Gunther: 5 of 17, or 29%
Claude: 5 of 17, or 29%
Walter: 4 of 17, or 24%
Thomas: 0 of 17, or 0%

Comments: Poor Thomas! Although he himself knows everybody else but Hans,
nobody else knows him, even the three that are lying in the same room with
him! Of the eighteen dead Germon soldiers, three know nobody else (or at
least refuse to talk about them). Four others know only Muller. As for the
American contingent, it's very strange that none of the other soldiers in the
sealed section of Need a Light? know Sean or Jason, even though they're lying
only a few feet away from them. Very similar to the treatment (or lack of
it) the Germans give to Thomas. I guess some people just don't fit in.

Hamish --

You might want to include this little bit of info in the "Namedroppers"
article --

Joachim doesn't recognize Gunther when you type in "Gunther", but he will
mention Gunther when you type in "seven." Weird.
